Hi all! Miss me?
Since I never got around to doing a full post on my birthday festivities it only seemed right to do it on my half birthday. After all, I’ll want to relive the day as many times as I can, you know?
*disclaimer: I literally was the one who started the giant metallic balloon trend so don’t even get me started.
As you all know by now I’m a little city girl so New York is my second home. What doesn’t help though that there are so many options of places to choose to stay, eat, party, etc.
My friends and I stayed at the Kimpton Ink48. If you’re looking for the trendiest spot this is where it’s at. Not to mention the staff is amazing and if you’re lucky, you get a view right over the Hudson (shout to them for upgrading me because I made it way too obvious it was my birthday).
For dinner, my major foodie friend (who I’m entirely grateful for) made us reservations for Beauty & Essex in East Village. I don’t care when or for what you go but this restaurant is a must. Located in the back of a pawn shop, it has a major speakeasy vibe which I’m all about. The drinks are amazing and food is served tapas style, another plus. The highlight of your dinner will be when … wait for it… you’re served champagne in the powder room of the bathroom. Who can pass that up? Not I. So if you want the classiest dinner experience of your life make reservations literally right now.
For drinks, the best part of the Kimpton is their rooftop bar The Press Lounge. You have a view of the whole city and there’s an ambiance pool that runs the width of the roof. If you’re a guest at Kimpton you get to cut the line (I love a good VIP moment).
(not the best photography skills for this one, that flute of champagne really did me in.)
After the classy dinners, happy hours, and rooftop drinks the world’s your oyster in NYC. Clubs, upscale bars, low-scale bars, whatever you want this city has it. Make it your own. If you need recommendations, comment below! 🙂
