The Best Books For All-Around Self-Betterment

Hi loves,

I don't know about you but I hate the term "self-help books". It sounds so... desperate. Sometimes we need a book to improve ourselves but don't help. You know? So, today I'll be discussing the books that I have read and love in order to better myself. I'll put these books in my own genre of "self-betterment". I personally love to read a wide array of books from spiritual topics to finances. The more you know! Reading is also such a great mind training activity to help concentration, an all around beneficial hobby (and you know I love a double benefit). Below are my picks for all aspects of self-betterment!

My Top 5 Picks

Lean In- Sheryl Sandberg

A must read for all the women in the workforce. I read this book a few years ago and have currently been re-reading it. This book gets in your head (in the best way). Sandberg discusses how to conquer all your career goals and how to stop holding yourself back. Advice worth taking as she is the COO of Facebook. Let's get it, ladies!

The Four Agreements- Don Miguel Ruiz

The Four Agreements teaches the simplest way to live a happy and fulfilling life in align with the universe according to Toltec wisdom. This book is great no matter how spiritual or not you find yourself. To sum it up, The Four Agreements are the rules to follow in order to live your best life. Rules like: "Don't take anything personally" (rule #2) and how to live it. This book is one that you can pick up every morning as a great way to start the day.

The Power of Habit- Charles Duhigg

Did you know that we form habits because the brain wants to make life easy for us? Things we do in repetition are done that way so the brain can focus on more important tasks. I mean think about it, if we had to decide every morning in what order to shower, brush our teeth, and make our breakfast, we'd be wasting energy on something unnecessary.  Well, big brands learned this as well and use it to market products, even as simple as toothpaste, to their first customers. The Power of Habit gives super interesting studies and examples of habit (and what happens when the part of the brain that controls it is damaged). It will also teach you how long it takes to break or change a habit.

Super Attractor- Gabrielle Bernstein

I don't say this lightly but this book has made a huge impact on my life and my connection to the universe. If you need to better your alignment or are feeling stuck in any kind of way, this book helps change all of that. This is the perfect read if you're still in quarantine or WFH and are just drained and over it. It discusses everything from how to move from feelings of fear or overwhelment to positivity and also how to call onto the universe to help you out of situations.

I Will Teach You To Be Rich- Ramit Sethi

If you read this post on finance you already know how much I love this book. It breaks down finance into such simple terms but also helps you make the most of your money by learning how to lower your credit card interest rates and putting your money into high interest saving accounts.
