Happy Sunday beauties!
Are Sundays ever really happy? Not sure, especially in this rain. Anyway! Fashion month is currently in full force so I thought I’d backtrack 2 weeks to fashion week here in NY to share with you guys my first hand experience.
Fashion Week is an amazing time to explore NY if not for anything else other than the amazing street style of everyone walking the streets. If there’s a time to gather major inspo, it’s here. I spent my time between shows just admiring the looks everyone put together and looking for common trends to up my own wardrobe. For my first fashion week, I stayed relatively conservative in color and style with my outfit wearing a trench, a skirt from I. AM. GIA (my fave brand at the moment), and threw in some pops of color with red sock boots and a Prada crossbody camera bag. I loved what I pulled together but definitely considering upping my game for next season!
I attended the Nolcha Shows which showcase independent designers and was able to witness a wide variety of pieces from elaborate gowns to a collection of futuristic styles. Seven Crash and Gemma Hoi were two designers whose attention to detail and specific themes caught my eye, definitely see them being the next up and coming designers within a few years. There were so many other amazing designers including Lavanya Coodly and pieces designed from students from Stevenson University. I love works from independent and new designers because it’s amazing to see what else is out there aside from the established designers. Speaking of the effort behind a show, has anyone sat down to watch Gucci’s FW18 show? I’m going to spend this rainy Sunday catching up on the ones that I have yet to watch. If you have any faves, comment below. 😉
Be sure to follow Nolcha Shows to discover all the details about the designers that put on NYFW shows and watch my (attempt at creating) a video above for a few clips from the shows. Lastly, be sure to shop my outfit below, the Asos trench I’m wearing is perfect for all the rain we’ve been having lately! xo.
